2011 Ford Territory will be equiped with the best-in-class performance, and it will go into production in this year.

2011 Ford Territory is powered by a 2.7-litre diesel engine, which was developed by Ford and PSA Peugeot Citroen to the Land Rover Discovery 4. The engine produces 140kW and 440Nm, Peak torque for the new engine is available from 1900rpm through to 2500rpm. figures certain to ensure ample performance, so the Disco managing the 0-100km/h only in 12.7 seconds.

The diesel engine with the US-sourced 6R80 six-speed automatic engine rather than the ZF six-speed auto from the petrol was one motivated largely by cost considerations. Ford Australia’s product development director, Russell Christophers, explained the Territory had sold more than 120,000 units since its launch in 2004, and at its peak controlled one-third of the medium SUV market.
