2011 Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet Concept

Volkswagen has officially unveiled the Golf R Cabriolet concept. The new Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet Concept is an extremely sport car, but it has not been confirmed for production.

Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet Concept features the same treatment that was applied to the standard Volkswagen Golf R model, it is distinguished by an aggressive front fascia, aerodynamic side skirts and a center-mounted dual exhaust system.  Other goodies includea sport chassis that lowers the car’s ride by 25 mm, a 17-inch brake system with internally ventilated discs at all wheels, blue painted high-performance brake calipers, a high-performance braking system and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet Concept is equiped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, it can develops 266 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. It races to the 60 mph mark in less than six seconds. The top speeds is also identical at 155 mph (250 km/h). This makes the R Cabriolet the fastest open-top Golf ever.

VW Golf R Cabriolet Concept also presents an especially sporty interior concept. The interior gets shell seats in a dark blue carbon leather that is then combined with high-end Nappa leather in “Pure Grey.” Other features include carbon fiber accents and sand-blasted aluminum door sill plates with black piano paint inlays.

The backs of the shell seats are painted in luxurious black piano paint. Carbon accents emphasize the concept’s technical-sporty character. The sand-blasted aluminum door sill plates with black piano paint inlays display finely crafted workmanship.
