2012 Ford Focus ST
By luanpa in Ford | September 17, 2010 | (0) CommentsThe All-new 2012 Ford Focus ST will be the centerpiece of the automaker’s display at 2010 Paris Auto Show. The 247-horsepower Focus ST is slated to go on sale in early 2012, its stablemates begin to reach dealers in North America and Europe in 2013.
The manufacturer says the new 2012 Ford Focus ST will offer exhilarating performance and handling. It will get a high-output version of Ford’s 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. Other details will be released at the show. The showcar is finished in Tangerine Scream.
The new model will be powered by a two-liter EcoBoost, products 250 horses-power from the should be a walk in the park, since it’s already boosted nearly that high for the Edge and Explorer. No word on whether that’s coupled to the “PowerShift” dual-clutch transmission that we have on the Fiesta now. I’ve raced the Ford Spec Focus cars that have about 210hp at the crank, using the standard Ford five-speed Focus transmission, so that’s a possibility as well. SVT Foci of the first generation (ST170 overseas) had six-speeders.
As far as the design of the 2012 Ford Focus ST goes, it will have a new front bumper with a large grille, new side skirts and a rear roof spoiler. The highlight of the design of the 2012 Ford Focus ST is, as far as we’re concerned, the center exhaust pipes. The interior of the 2012 Focus ST has also been re-designed and now features sportier seats and what seems to be carbon-fiber inserts on the dashboard.
