Interior, the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO communicates its sporty characteristics with a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-trimmed sport seats with embroidered SHO graphics, unique woven aluminum trim and adjustable aluminum pedals with memory.
The base models of 2013 Ford Taurus SHO is powered by a new 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which proves 237 bhp and 250 lb.-ft. of torque that promises to deliver 31 mpg. Not bad for a car weighing 4000 lb. The optional engine on standard Taurus models is a normally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 producing 290 bhp, a gain of 27 bhp over the stock engine. Torque is expected to be 255 lb.-ft. The big dog SHO uses a turbocharged 3.5-liter engine to make 365 bhp and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, thanks to the use of direct injection and twin turbos. All 2013 Ford Taurus models are equipped with a 6-speed automatic transaxle, although the SHO features a beefed-up gearbox with sequential paddle shifters.
2013 Ford Taurus SHO is able to put that power with a standard all-wheel-drive system that incorporates a limited-slip diff and large wheels and tires. The SHO comes with 19-in. wheels fitted with V-rated P255/45 rubber, while 20-in. wheels are optional. The suspension is tauter and the brakes are also upgraded.
