BAC Mono is single-seat racer car

BAC Mono is constructed using high-strength carbon fibre composite around a steel safety cell. The cell is designed to offer maximum safety featuring a FIA compliant steel rollover structure, a side impact structure and a front carbon crashbox. The carbon fiber composite surrounding a FIA-compliant steel safety cell weighs a mere 1,200 pounds.
This vision of BAC Mono runs throughout Mono’s appearance it was fundamental to our designers that form follow function on all aspects of the car. It gaves our designers and project engineers the ultimate blank canvas on which to assemble their dream. The design aesthetic is intended to combine sculpted, sleek, organic forms to provide an emotional, human connection juxtaposing the technical.
The BAC Mono is powered by a 2.3 liter, Cosworth-massaged four-cylinder engine, eveloping 280 bhp at 7,700 rpm and 280 Nm (207 lb.ft.) at 6,000 rpm, is coupled with an F-3 spec 6-speed sequential gearbox from Hewland. According to BAC, the Mono is thus able to hit the 60 mph (97 km/h) mark within 2.8 seconds, and the top speed is 170 mph (274 km/h).
