BYD F3DM

BYD  F3DM is one of China’s best selling self developed car, with it often selling over 10,000 units per month, but now it is set to get cheaper thanks to a self developed engine.

BYD executives will provide details about the company’s advanced Fe lithium-iron battery and its new Dual Mode (DM) plug-in hybrid system.

The BYD  F3DM currently uses an off the shelf Mitsubishi engine, which is good as a marketing point to the consumer, but also bumps up the pricing. BYD plan to use a self developed 1.5l and 1.8l in the near future to lower the overall cost of the car, and improve sales.
