Volkswagon Electric E-Bugster like Beetle

Volkswagen E-Bugster is a completely electric concept, you can see it is based on new VW Beetle. It has just been unveiled in the lead up to the 2012 North American
International Auto Show in Detroit.

VW E-Bugster concept features a lower roofline, shallow windows and a wide, flat windshield. The E-Bugster utilizes LED Daytime Running Lights, just like the production Beetle, except that here they form a distinctive graphic on either side of the lower air intake in the front bumper. This LED graphic is mirrored by reflectors in the rear bumper. It roads a 20-inch wheels.

Volkswagon Electric E-Bugster is equiped with an electric motor, producing 84kW of power and 270Nm of torque. Electricity is sent from a 315kg lithium-ion battery mounted in the rear of the concept. Its full-charge range is approximately 160km. Instead of a tachometer, an energy consumption display fluctuates in accord with vehicle acceleration. Also included are a driving range indicator, a charge-state display, and a display of battery regeneration intensity.

According to the official the production plan to open roads in the next few years, and will be launch in the next few years and tougher emission rules in the U.S. and Europe.

BMW X coupe Concept

BMW has debuted BMW X coupe at the 2001 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, it is base on X5 sport-utility-sized coupe, also is an all-wheel drive.

BMW X coupe is designed as a pure styling standpoint, features an aluminium body and stands 58.3 inches high. It is designed as the ultimate expression of the sporty vehicle, X coupe has traditionally been built for athletic driving on the road.

The X Coupe concept inherits the four wheel drive system “All Season Traction (AST)”. BMW have taken a bold step with the lighting system on the X Coupe concept. The headlamps move with the front wheels (much like on old Citroens) illuminating bends in the road.

BMW X coupe concept is powered by an advanced BMW 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbodiesel engine, developing 184 horsepower and 332 ft-lbs. It is equiped with a five-speed Steptronic automanual transmission that includes shift paddles on the steering wheel, the top speed can hit 125 mph.

Ford unveiled the all-new EcoSport Concept at the 2012 New Dehli Auto Show in India. The all new EcoSport concept is a new compact SUV, it is actually a thinly disguised future production model.

Ford EcoSport was developed in South America, it was designed to combine best-in-class design, technology, quality and safety aimed at attracting a new generation of consumers in different global markets. Ford EcoSport will be created as the latest One Ford global product, the EcoSport will be a key model in expanding Ford’s presence in major worldwide growth markets.

The EcoSport will be produced at ultra-modern, flexible assembly plants in Brazil, India, and other markets to be announced at a later time. The EcoSport as a global vehicle is an example of the technical ability of Ford’s global engineering and high level of integration of the design and engineering centres around the world.

America based auto major has introduced the new 1.0 L EcoBoost petrol engine for the first time in the compact SUV with some promising performance equalling the 1.6 L capacity petrol engine. The 1.5 L powertrain fills in for the diesel option. Ford EcoSport price however could be around Rs 8 lakh mark. The all-new Ford EcoSport has been engineered to meet the most demanding safety standards in the various markets where it will be sold.

The previous EcoSport was launched in South America in 2003 and has sold 700,000 vehicles since. It will use the same B-segment architecture seen on the Fiesta and the B-Max.

Lexus LF-LC Hybrid Concept

Lexus is set to introduce the LF-LC 2+2 hybrid sport coupe concept vehicle 2012 at Detroit Auto Show. Lexus has posted two more shots showing the new concept.

Lexus LF-LC Hybrid Concept is a 2+2 coupe, which was “crafted from a clean sheet of paper” at Toyota’s Calty Design Center in Newport Beach, California. The concept features “emotive, avant-garde beauty and unequalled technology” intended to “advance the redefinition of Lexus.”

The car will be fitted with the company’s Advanced Hybrid Drive, Lexus said, without providing further details. Lexus would differentiate its coupe would be through the use of hybrid technology, which the LF-LC will be packing. You’ll note that one of the images reveals a small hybrid badge on the flanks of the concept.

The price for the range-topping Lexus LF-LC Hybrid Concept maxes out at less than $120,000 and then there’s nothing until you get to the astronomically priced LFA at around $375,000.

Donkervoort D8 GTO is the product of a collaboration between Donkervoort Automobielen and Audi Quattro GmbH. The price range for one is goes from $130,000 up to $195,000.

Donkervoort was founded in 1978, the company have produced a range of sports car. D8 GTO is longer and wider than the company ’s other models. The door is capable of withstanding a force of over 1,100 kilos/2425 lbs, all while weighing in at a remarkable 980 grams.

The interior of the D8 GTO is two seats, it real purpose as a pure-bred race car. Lush amenities were disregarded in favor of a more straight-forward approach to performance, highlighted by a fully-equipped dashboard with a special race module switch and traction control.

Donkervoort D8 GTO is powered by a modified Audi TT RS 2.5 liter TFSI engine, it output up to 400 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque.

2012 Acura NSX Concept

Acura will release the 2012 Acura NSX Concept at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show, which has been confirmed for production by Honda CEO Takanobu Ito a few months ago.

The convertible version of the Acura NSX concept will be showed in the upcoming Ice man movie. Tony Stark will drive it. 2012 Acura NSX Concept is a mid-engine sports coupe.

The concept will be powered by a transversely-mounted V-6 engine, while others at the time had turbochargers or extra displacement. This time around, the performance of the NSX concept will be improved via an electrically driven front axle, the engine will be equiped with a 7-speed twin-clutch transmission.

Honda EV-STER concept

Honda EV-STER concept is a Beat-style compact electric sports car, which has been debut at the 2011 Tokyo motor show.

EV-STER concept is 357cm long and 150cm wide, it rides on a 91.5-inch wheelbase featuring an open top and a small footprint with an aerodynamic wedge-shaped body made from carbon fiber for reduced weight. The drivers side is on the right and features two joysticks instead of a steering wheel.

It’s a two-seater similar to the Tesla Roadster, but unfortunately with a lot less power and speed. Although Honda didn’t get too specific, they did mention that the EV-STER takes about 5 seconds to go from 0 to 60km/hr (37mph) and maxes out at about 99mph.

Honda EV-STER concept is powered by a 10-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery output of 78 horsepower. Honda claims it can store enough charge to take you a distance of 100 miles. Recharging the vehicle would take under three hours at 200 miles. It sprints from zero to 37 mph in 5.0 seconds and has a range of about 99 miles.

Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept has debuted at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. Cross Coupe is all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid vehicle. It looks at the design direction of future V-Dub crossovers and SUVs.

Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept is the first vehicle to ride on Volkswagen styles. The concept was designed with a bevy of new features, both characterized by a new design architecture and a new hybrid power train set-up. Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept paints a real good pictureof the future of Volkswagen.

Cross Coupe Concept measures 73.5 inches wide and 171.1 long and 60.0 inches high. The concept is longer than a VW Golf and shorter than a Tiguan. It is the long hood, a completely new frontal aesthetic, the set-back passenger compartment, and the low window line for an SUV.

The concept ride on 20-inch alloy wheels, equipped with 265/45-section tires, enhance the sporty look. It is based on Volkswagen’s new modular transverse matrix (MQB). The concept is a new bumper that’s presented with a precisely shaped character line, extending upwards to form a singular unit with the bars of the radiator grille.

Interior, the concept is also a picture of ergonomic spaciousness. The interior is fitted with four individual bucket seats, each having integrated headrests and ample space for even big passengers to stretch their legs. A pair of grab handles can be found on the center stack, incorporate the HVAC controls and air vents while a touchscreen display is easily accessible and provides all of the relevant vehicle functions.

Volkswagen Cross Coupe Concept is powered by a hybrid system. Mazda released the Mazda Takeri concept before the 2011 Tokyo motor show, it will be equiped with the Mazda’s new SKYACTIV technology.

The midsize sedan Takeri concept adopts Mazda’s latest Kodo design language, it marked a changing of the guard as far as the company’s new design philosophy was concerned.

The first two examples of this new chapter in Mazda design came in the form of the Shinari and Minagi concepts.The third Kodo-influenced concept is called the Takeri and it’s being touted as the eventual successor and next-generation model of the Mazda 6. The Takeri Concept successfully follows in the steps of both the Shinari and Minagi concepts.

Mazda’s new SKYACTIV technology is geared towards producing a range of hybrid versions for the next-generation Mazda 6. Other rumored elements of the Takeri Concept include a high tensile, lightweight steel chassis, regenerative brakes, and start-stop engine technology

More details of the Takeri Concept are expected to be revealed at the Tokyo Auto Show in a little over a month’s time.

The unknown automaker Genty Automobile, which is a French company, they announced plans for a new supercar Genty Akylone Concept at 2012 Paris Motor Show. The only 15 units will be sold in the future.

Genty Akylone Concept is a surpercar with 1000 hp, it inspired by a few of today’s exotics. It weights only 1,100 Kg, it terms of dimensions it measures 175.8 inch in length, 80.7 inch in width and 43.9 inch in height. It comes plush with expensive materials – carbon fiber and aluminum, among them – to go with a swooping front fascia, a steeply raked roofline, a pair of scissor doors, an enormous rear diffuser, and all the bells and whistles – like LED daytime running lights of a concept supercar.

Genty Akylone Concept is powered by a twin-turbo 4.8-liter V8 engine, produces more than 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1014 PS) and 940 lb-ft (1,273 Nm) of torque. The engine sequential 7 speed transmission that ShareThisGenty Akylone 1000 HP French Supercar Photosdirects power to the rear wheels, the car will be able to rocket from 0 to 100 Km in 2.7 seconds (0 to 200 Km/h / 124 mph in 7.2 seconds, 0 to 300 Km/h /186 mph in 14 seconds) and will hit a maximum speed of 354 Km/h (220 mph).

The interior of the Akylone doesn’t appear to be finished yet, but we expect to be in the final version, including the sports seats, an elaborate infotainment system, and a wide center console.

Akylone supercar will enter production in a limited run of just 15 units, the price is unknown now.

Kia GT is a rear-wheel drive concept has been debuted at 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. It will lead to a new styling direction from the company that brought the car to Germany.

Kia GT is designed as a rear-wheel four-door, four-seater sports sedan concept. We certainly were very surprised by the look of the car at first, it features 184.6 inches long and 54.3 inches tall, the car’s low-slung stance and profile contribute to its sporty look.

Inside, it is less controversial, with beautiful organic forms, one-piece seats. The glass instrument panel continues this out-of-age look with three layers of organic LEDs, GT Concept’s cabin is also a picture of awesomeness. The instrument panel is also a picture of sophistication, floating above the muscular center console and further enhancing Kia’s intelligent use of space.

Kia GT Concept is powered by a turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine, produces 390 horsepower and 394 lb/ft of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The GT Concept is also noted for being the first model to carry a rear-wheel drive set-up. It is equiped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Kia GT will make the jump from concept to production car is unclear, because Kia hasn’t traveled down this road before, which makes the excitement behind a production version of the concept understandable.

Five Volkswagen Up! concept

Volkswagen has unveiled five Volkswagen Up! concept cars at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Five Volkswagen concept Up! varieties are The UP! team are Volkswagen e-Up!, Volkswagen eco-Up!, Volkswagen Up! azzurra sailing team, Volkswagen cross Up!, and the Volkswagen GT Up! The Buggy and Azzurra are designed for those who want to get close to the ocean.

Volkswagen Buggy Up! harkens back to the Beetle-based Manx buggies of the 1960s and ’70s. Rather than a fiberglass body like those old beachcombers, though, the Buggy Up! uses steel panels on top of regular Up! running gear. Ride height is reduced by 0.8 inch, sacking any thoughts of frolicking in the surf or deep sand.

This is the Volkswagen Up! azzurra sailing team. It is the most fanciful of the Up! concepts. Which features a complete open -air cabin with no B-pillar or roof. The two doors are also reduced down to just a single beam frame compared with a normal Up!. The open-top was designed by Italian designers Giorgetto Giugiaro and Walter de Silva with a distinct sailing boat character.

This is Volkswagen cross Up concept!. It is Volkswagen’s idea of a four-door Up! which is said to be in the pipeline for future production. Apart from the addition of two doors, the Volkswagen cross Up! features a beefier body with sill extensions and pumped wheel arches.

This is Volkswagen GT Up concept!. It is Volkswagen envisions as a sports GTI version of the Up!. Volkswagen sees an engine producing up to 74kW of power which would propel the 900kg hatch from 0-100km/h quicker than any other Up! variant. Volkswagen is yet to announce if such a model is being planned for the future.

This Volkswagen eco-Up! Concept. It is a natural-gas-fueled version of the Up! It features a more eco-friendly powertrain as opposed to the petrol version, using a natural gas-powered engine. The eco-Up! also combines the gas power by Volkswagen’s BlueMotion technology, which ties in start/stop and a regenerative braking system.

Volkswagen Beetle R Concept unveiled

Volkswagen Beetle R Concept is a sporty, and speedy, version of the New VW Beetle. It has been public debuted at the Frankfurt motor Show.

The VW Beetle R concept is treated to a sportier body kit with front and rear bumpers. The front bumper has three air intakes that are finished in Black High Gloss. The Volkswagen Beetle R sits on large 20-inch Talladega alloy wheels which is the same design utilized by the Golf R and the Scirocco R. These wheels are finished in Serious Grey. The exterior also sports two sets of dual chrome tailpipes, free-standing wings that are widened by 15 mm as well as a roof with the Black High Gloss treatment.

Interior, the Beetle R has motorsport shell seats that are upholstered in black Nappa leather, seat piping in Space Blue and lots of R logos everywhere. The instruments have been modified as well and brushed aluminium is used for all pedal caps.

Ford Fiesta ST Concept has just unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. The production version will start in the UK in 2012. As we konw Ford Fiesta ST is the same format Ford followed with the Focus ST.

This Ford Fiesta ST is just a concept, it is a three-door city car, with the new global performance vehicles strategy, gets a lowered stance, 17-inch alloy wheels and an ST body kit. A trapezoidal grille is borrowed from the Ford Focus ST. The Ford Fiesta cabin gets a sports interior with Recaro seats for the driver and front passenger.

Ford Fiesta ST Concept is equipped with Ford EcoBoost engine, which is a specially tuned 177-horsepower 1.6-liter linked to a six-speed manual transmission. The Fiesta ST sprints from zero to 62 mph in less than 7 seconds, and the top speed in excess of 140mph.

The concept car has no interior, but expect the production version to get Recaro sports seats, plus a unique sports steering wheel and gearlever.

Mercedes Benz F125 Hydrogen Gullwing Concept obviously pays tribute to the 125th anniversary of Benz Brand, but it also showcases new design elements we will be seeing in future production cars of the Brand.

This concept reportedly packs no less than four electric motors, which draw juice from a hydrogen fuel cell stack. it produces 231 horsepower, which can push the car to 60 mph (98 km/h) in 4.9 seconds, the top speed is 136 mph (218 km/h). That might sound like a lot of performance from hothatch levels of power, but the who thing only way a ton.

Volkswagen NILS Concept is the firm’s vision of a commuter device for the future. NILS is a single-seater EV concept vehicle. will make its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Volkswagen NILS was designed as a recogniseable member of the VW familywith, its weight is 460kg, skinny 17-inch wheels and gullwing doors.

Volkswagen NILS Concept is powered by a small lithium-ion battery pack, rechargeable from the mains in just two hours, delivers a range of 40 miles. Thanks to the motor producing 34bhp and 130Nm of torque. There is a 25 kW overboost which can shoot it up to 62 miles per hour for about 11 seconds and according to Volkswagen the Nils can be fully charged in 2 hours.

NILS is fitted with a City Emergency Braking system, which can apply the stoppers automatically at speeds below 20mph, and it features a removable sat-nav unit that’s also used to control the radio, telephone and trip computer functions.

Audi A2 Concept

Audi A2 Concept is an electric-powered 5-door hatchback, It is gap between the existing Audi A1 and Audi A3. According to the official it will be debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The new design study reveals Audi new LED headlight technology called matrix beam, while the daytime running lights use low-beam technology. The rear lights use a new diode laser beam function for the fog light, and the rear lights adapt themselves to different driving conditions as needed. The Audi A2 Concept measures 12.47 feet in length, 5.54 feet in width and sits just 4.89 feet in height. The weighs is only 2,535 pounds.

Inside, the cabin of the Audi A2 Concept is said to be ample room for four. The dark glass roof of the white-painted concept has the ability to switch to transparency with the push of a button. The key is its construction, which is a mix of aluminum and carbon fiber.

The engine is powered by a 114 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque electric motor driving the front wheels. This motor is linked to a lithium-ion battery stored in the floor that takes just 1.5 hours to charge using a custom 400 volt charger, or around 4 hours using a regular household power outlet. It stores 31 kWh of energy, 24 kWh of which is usable. The 0-60 mph sprint will take you 9.3 seconds and top speed is limited to 93 mph.

Audi will appear more information at the Frankfurt Show. We’re guessing Audi will also indicate what features of the concept might appear on its future cars.

Peugeot HX1 Concept

Peugeot HX1 Concept is a low slung six-seater MPV. It will be debuted at 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Peugeot HX1 Concept is 195.0 inches long, 78.3 inches wide and 54.1 inches tall, the HX1 is 5.7 inches longer, 1.8 inches wider, it is longer and wider than a BMW X5. The four doors are reverse-opening scissor. The exterior continues Peugeot’s latest design identity with a floating front grille. While the feline head lamps give it an appearance that is evocative of the marque’s badge and history. This look is refined by an LED lighting signature, easily recognizable in the daytime or at night. This visual signature is repeated.

The interior conceived as a luxury four-seater with an additional pair of retractable seats in the center rowaims to blend a spacious interior and a sleek profile. The front section of the cabin has been designed to provide the driver with maximum sensation. It features a high-tech look and uses brushed metal and digital components.

The system combines a 2.2-litre HDi diesel engine that drives the front wheels with an electric motor integrated into the rear axle for a maximum power output of 223kW. Furthering its versatility, the Peugeot HX1 can be driven in all-wheel drive mode, and also in all-electric mode for a potential zero-emissions range of 30km. Peugeot says the HX1 is capable of using just 3.2 litres/100km on the combined cycle and emitting 83g/km CO2.

Ford will show its new Evos Concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Motors Show. This concept signals a new design that represent the future of direction for Ford global design language.

The Ford Evos Concept is a plug-in hybrid with lithium-ion batteries. Exterior, the Ford Evos Concept is a four-door (gullwing style), four-seat concept, it measures 177-inches long, 77-inches wide and 53 inches high. Sits on a wheelbase that is 108 inches long.

Paul Mascarenas, the leader of Ford’s global Research and Innovation team was tasked with building Evos Concept around a technology experience as visionary as the design. The result signals how Ford intends to build on the momentum of innovations like the SYNC in-car connectivity system.

Inside, Ford Evos boasts a driver-oriented cabin with limited switchgear. The cabin reflects the trapezoidal grille with trapezoidal cut-outs, along with a red driver seat. The rear passengers get adjustable sports seats and touchscreen displays. Ford Evos will automatically change steering and suspension response in accordance to varying weather conditions, which might discern from cloud-based information sources.

Ford Evos Concept is powered by a lithium-ion plug-in hybrid engine, powertrain works in conjunction with or independently of a petrol engine to maximise efficiency. Land Rover has revealed DC100 Concept for 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, and they also confirms the production of a new Land Rover Defender version.

Land Rover have been building vehicles renowned for their capability and versatility for over 60 years , perhaps none more so than the iconic Defender.

Land Rover’s Design Director Gerry McGovern aimed to produce a vehicle that is instantly recognisable as a Defender, yet still thoroughly modern, while capturing the adventurous, indomitable spirit established by the Series 1 in 1948.

The Cadillac Ciel Concept has been unveiled in Monterey, California. It is named Ciel after the French word for the sky. This concept taken the automotive world by surprise.

As the brand, This Cadillac Ciel Concept is a four-seat luxury convertible, developed at GM Design’s North Hollywood Design Centre with Niki Smart at the head of the exterior team and Gael Buzyn in charge of the interior, the Ciel was apparently designed for coastal drives and sunsets. This concept is designed to show the world the potential of the brand’s evolving ‘Art & Science’ philosophy.

The Cadillac Ciel concept exterior features a special nickel-coating, and its lines appear to flow seamlessly into the cabin, with the body color rolling over on top of the interior door panels. Ciel concept has an impressive wheelbase of 125-inches, it is 300mm longer than the Cadillac CTS sedan. This concept is amazing, reminding of simpler times, being focused primarily on styling.

Cadillac Ciel Concept is powered by a 3.6-litre direct-injection V6 engine, output 317kW/583Nm twin-turbocharged version of General Motors, this engine is paired with a hybrid system using lithium-ion battery technology. It teamed with a lithium-ion battery hybrid system. No further powertrain details have been revealed so far.

The BMW’s new electric cars will be debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. Include: BMW I8 Concept and BMW I3 concept, we have writen a post about the first, now we will introduce the 3-door hatchback I3 Concept.

BMW i3 concept will be the first vehicle produced under the i brand when it arrives 2012, it is an uncompromisingly sustainable vehicle designed for urban areas. with every detail conceived and optimised to fulfil its eventual purpose. Its innovative LifeDrive architecture renders the BMW i3 Concept light, safe, spacious and dynamic.

The BMW i3 concept is primarily composed of a carbon fiber/plastic composite. The material’s weight should completely offset the usual weight that accompanies an electric vehicle’s battery pack, which can be between 550 and 770 pounds of additional weight compared to a gasoline car, BMW says.

The weight decrease means the i3 should get better efficiencies out of its lithium-ion battery pack and electric motor. The mostly carbon fiber body will also “provide superb safety in the event of a collision, ” BMW says.

The electric motor over the rear axle, which generates output of 125 kW/170 hp and impressive torque of 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) from a standstill – and a small turning circle combine to deliver agile driving characteristics. The BMW i3 Concept accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h (37 mph) in under four seconds and from rest to 62 mph in less than 8 seconds.

Renault Frendzy concept

Renault Frendzy concept is the fourth of seven design concepts from the French firm, which was debuted at the Frankfurt motor show. The designer attempts to showcase innovative technologies about the sporting and warmly welcoming for the family as a efficient and modern work tool.

According to Renault, Frendzy concept is a “multi-faceted friend” that automatically tackles friendly tasks, including changing the orientation of the exterior mirrors, setting the interior mood lighting and altering the vehicle’s pedestrian warning system as the Frendzy transforms from “work” to “family” mode.

Frendzy’s design offers an odd variety of access points, with the right-hand side showing only a front door and a workvan-like sliding door, including a 37-inch digital display. Frendzy concept offers doors that hinged at the outer edges on the left, along with proper passenger windows. At the rear is a split tailgate, with the bottom gate able to lay flat or slide downwards, which offering easier access in tight parking spaces.

Interior, The cabin is designed along the theme of a futuristic ‘work bench’ featuring a structure, it appears to be made from molten metal. Green light emanating from the dashboard brings this smooth and organic architecture to life. The single-piece rear seat is integrated into the floor. Sensors located on the door sills can log the loading or unloading of packages tagged with chips with information such as destination address.

Frendzy’s powertrain is the same as that of Kangoo Z.E., it is equiped with a 60-horsepower electric motor and lithium-ion batteries. Electric vehicles are silent, so one of the big challenges facing Renault is customizing the sound they produce for safety reasons, notably at slow speeds.

2012 Chevrolet Cobalt Concept

GM unveiled new Chevrolet Cobalt Concept at the Buenos Aires International Auto show. Chevrolet says that this concept is based on the Chevy Cobalt, it is designed by Chevy North America Center, and will go on sale in 2012.

This version Chevrolet Cobalt will go on sale in South America and possibly other emerging markets around the world, This means that the production version of the new Cobalt will probably offer more of it. The new 2012 Chevy Cobalt was designed to satisfy a variety of markets, and to offer plenty of comfort and luggage space for medium to long tips.

Chevrolet Cobalt concept is equiped with double headlights, LED lights punctuate some questionably large, chrome-surrounded lamps. The concept features a panoramic glass roof, which might not make its way into the production model. Cobalt concept also features an interior ambient lighting system, with blue LED strips, that are meant to give a feeling of increased space.

Chevrolet says it will sell the 2012 Cobalt with a range of 1.3-liter and 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engines, and with a choice between manual and automatic transmissions. The 2012 Chevrolet Cobalt will also come with Flex Fuel gasoline engines and with diesel units. A unique woodgrain accent highlights the steering wheel. LED lighting in a soft blue is a welcome touch, as is the in-dash navigation system and twin seven-inch LCD screens in the headrests, which we doubt would make it into production.

BMW 328 Hommage new sport concept

BMW has unveiled an all-new concept car called the 328 Hommage, it is a two-seater sports car is designed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the BMW 328 racecar.

The new BMW sport car makes extensive use of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic, a material already used by BMW in the M6 and M3. The BMW 328 Hommage gets an extremely wide and flat front end with generous surfaces and a powerful appearance. The rear has a particularly angular tail, with lights that echo the look of the Vision ED eco-supercar that’s earmarked for production. A carbon fiber bonnet and low-reaching sidewalls will ensure an excellent stability for the 328 on the road.

The lightweight 328 original weighed just 780kgs and BMW has concentrated on keeping weight down in the Hommage. The body is made from carbon-reinforced plastic, the same material used in the i3 electric car and the stripped out cabin is simple and driver-focused.

The BMW 328 Hommage will be powered by a 3.0-litre straight-six engine, but BMW hasn’t revealed any official statistics or performance figures.

The interior gets fine leather, matte and high-gloss black polished aluminum and numerous details derived from motor racing, offering a hint of the BMW 328’s most successful motor sports career.

The BMW 328 Hommage is unlikely to make production, but expect to see BMW’s future models, including the i8 hybrid supercar getting a look inspired by the newcomer.

Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class

The Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class is a stylized version of the upcoming two-door family vehicle, it looks like Mercedes-Benz Concept B-class, but might show the direction the front-wheel drive platform is headed-one that will appeal to a more youthful and enthusiastic buyer.

Mercedes is relying on the fresh design with its more technical highlights, include a new, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, a dual clutch transmission and a radar-based collision warning system with adaptive Brake Assist. As part of a major shift, the A-class also adopts the heavily sculptured surfacing treatment and other elements seen on a batch of recent Mercedes concepts.

The exterior features the combination of defined edges and free interplay with the body surfaces. The front end of the Concept A-Class is a real eye-catcher. The side view is structured by three prominent lines. A very special effect is created by the lights of the Concept A-Class, as the innovative full-LED high-performance headlamps repeat the starry sky motif with numerous lighting points.

Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class will be equited with a 2.0-liter variant of Mercedes’ four-cylinder M270 gasoline engine. It’s modified to sit transversely in the engine bay, as opposed to the longitudinal mounting of other Mercedes models. The turbocharged unit is claimed to deliver 210 hp–the same power rating as European versions of the turbocharged 2.0-liter Volkswagen Golf GTi.

Renault Samsung SM7 concept

Renault-Samsung alliance in South Korea is going really strong. They has developed the first model SM7, this concept is based on the same platform as the Nissan Teana .

Renault Samsung SM7 concept is a four-door coupe, which will share its underpinnings with the future SM5 model. The features an attractive design with soft lines, a prominent grille, and LED lighting units. All luxury brands has released their four-door coupe models, Panamera from Porsche, CLS from Mercedes, Passat CC from Volkswagen, etc.

According to the official, Renault Samsung SM7 concept will be powered by a V6 2.5-liter engine, develops 182 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque, along with a more powerful V6 3.5-liter that produces 251 hp and 247 lb.-ft of torque.

Polish designer Piotr Czyzewski is responsible for this stunning Peugeot Shine Concept. It is four-seater coupe which is nothing short of jaw dropping.

The latest Peugeot Shine concept comprised created to demo the full expected of the Gallic blade. The BMW i8 concept is a hybrid sport, it will utilize Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic. The interiors put emphasis of giving consideration to the environment by using sustainable and natural materials, and it will come to market in 2013.

BMW i8 concept Vision was spotted during winter testing in Sweden. It is based on BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept which was first unveiled to the world at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, The vehicle is said to pack 2+2 seating.

BMW I8 concept will be powered by a a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbodiesel Plug-in Hybrid Electric engine, the two electric motors that produced 262 kW and 800 Nm of torque. So the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, and the top speed hits 250 km/h (155 mph), and averge 3.76 L/100 km (63 mpg US). Because of the plug-in hybrid technology, the Vision EfficientDynamics could travel up to 50 km (31 miles) on electricity alone.

BMW will forgo the thrifty diesel engine of the concept in favor of a turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline mill to work in coordination with a hybrid system. While that’s bad news bears for diesel fans, the fact that BMW is gearing the platform toward gasoline means that this vehicle will more than likely show up on American shores.

The BMW i8 is scheduled to be launched in 2013 and is rumored to cost approximately US$242,680.

BMW Univeiled Mini Rocketman concept

BMW univeiled a mini version of its Mini Rocketman concept, which is likely to appeal to fans of the original 1950s runabout famous for its cornering.

Mini Rocketman concept is almost foot shorter than a standard Cooper, it is built on a carbon-fiber spaceframe to save weight over the traditional steel unibodies employed on Mini production vehicles. Much of the spaceframe is visible inside and outside the car, to show off the carbon construction and save weight on trim pieces.

The exterior keeps the family cues and proportions, but displays a new interpretation of the details. Oversize round LED headlamps feature a light-ring surround while the stirrup-style rear lamps are fitted with high-output LEDs for the tail/brake/directionals.

Mini says the vehicle will ‘allow the integration of a drive system, which combines further enhanced sprinting ability with average fuel consumption of just three liters per 100 kilometers, which translates to roughly 78 mpg in U.S. measurements. We’ll be interested to find out what hyper-efficient drivetrain it is referring to in the press release, but we’re betting it’s some sort of diesel/hybrid.

Mini Rocketman Concept will make production is likely to remain topic of speculation for some time to come.
