The days of the individual vehicle ownership are as much a part of the past as the horse and carriages are, and will die by the wayside as we realize the convenience and lower costs of shares , communal travel by bullet trains. It will take only decades to convert to the new paradigm, forced upon us by rising costs for oil, insurance, repairs and cost of acquisition for independent vehicles. Expect a population migration to accommodate the trains, and a new form of communal housing foreign to the American spirit but well accommodated by the oriental. A Human seeking for communal touch with fellow man as we realize how alone in the Universe we are, by disclosures from Space sciences will shock us into a more communal stance and humankind will seek comfort in one-another more than ever before, more than the Christian churches ever generated! Yes!pyramids exist on Mars! No! we are not alone! Yes there are aliens! No they do not wish even communication with us!
