Ford is planing to debut Ford Fiesta SUV, which is based on the Fiesta supermini, and is due to make its official world debut at 2011 Geneva Motor Show.

Ford Fiesta SUV will probably be fitted with the stop-start system as standard and it will eco-friendly with low CO2 emissions. Customers of the new Ford mini SUV will also get the choice for two or four-wheel drive with a starting price from around 16.000 pounds for the entry-level.

It will also be powered by a wide range of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol line-up will include two versions of the firm’s efficient EcoBoost turbo powerplants: a new three-cylinder 90bhp 1.0-litre unit, and the powerful 1.6-litre from the bigger Focus.

All models are likely to get stop-start as standard, but alternative drivetrains may be offered, too. A more eco-friendly car, with lower emissions, could be introduced later on, borrowing technology from Ford’s hybrid C-MAX.

The Ford Fiesta’s prices starting from around £16,000, the baby Kuga looks set to offer the complete package.

  1. The Ford Fiesta is a very popular and “fun” looking car so it makes sense that Ford would take the idea and make a SUV out of it. Low emissions sounds good; gas is too expensive these days.

  3. My fav in the segment is Buick Enclave. No doubt Fiesta is doing great business all around, but somehow it does not look original.
