Lastest Next-generation Volkswagen Beetle spy shots
By luanpa in Volkswagen | October 8, 2010 | (4) CommentsLastest Next-generation Volkswagen Beetle is being test in Europe. So we got the spy shots, it is expected make its first debut at the Detroit motor show next January, and may go on sale in 2011.
The design of the Next-generation Volkswagen Beetle keeps the famous Beetle shape, the feature that jumps out the most on this next version of the retro-styled Beetle is the flattened roof which also seems to have squeezed the window lines too.
The new Beetle looks more purposeful with its lower stance and beefed up bodywork. The windscreen and A-pillar appear more upright, the new Bettle model will offer more interior space. The way the back end slopes down and the rear wheel arches bulge out is also more reminiscent of the classic Beetle than the revived one of the last decade.
We don’t have too many details about Volkswgen next generation Bettle, the engines start with the 1.2 liter 106 PS (78 kW) and range up to the 2.0 liter TFSI with 213 PS (157 kW) on the petrol side. For the diesels there’ll be the 106 PS 1.6 TDI and the 2.0 liter TDI with 142 PS (104 kW).
Volkswagen really had to keep the classic lines of the car whilst still providing the safety, comfort and driver involvement that buyers now demand. With new models that have reborn, like like MINI or Fiat 500, here’s the Beetle appearing in the landscape.
