New Honda NSX Details
By luanpa in Honda | November 24, 2010 | (1) CommentHonda is developing a new NSX to replace the stillborn model. The new Honda NSX is based on Honda Accord platform. And will be the the company’s flagship two-door sports-car.
Now we didn’t get any more details about new Honda NSX, Honda will apply NSX concept technology by fitting the rear-drive-based SH-AWD setup that enabled the test mule to lap the Nürburgring in 7 minutes, 37 seconds two years ago.
The new NSX will be powered by a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 engine, produces upwards of 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS). It will be paired to a manual transmission and a rear-biased SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system.
Production hasn’t been green-lighted, Using the front-wheel-drive Accord platform as a base for this car will cut R&D costs dramatically. Engineers will swap the front and rear around to create a rear midship AWD package. If the coupe gets the green light for production, a launch could come as early as 2014.

Wow, who knew Honda could design such a sporty and almost “sexy” looking car on the Accord platform no less? This is surprisingly a very good looking with a ton of power. I am guessing that MSRP will be in the late 40k’s, which seems high for an Accord but it’s over 400 hp!
