By luanpa in Peugeot | August 17, 2010 | (0) CommentsPeugeot Hyperion concept is designed by Marco for the 5th edition design contest 2008, and again, is an emission free vehicle. Word Hyperion comes from Greek mythology and means a titan. The design tries to crystallize the lions roaring of Peugeot brand, at the same time it gives an answer to the intention of articulating forms and shapes that’s never been used in a conventional vehicle.
Peugeot Hyperion’s lines integrate it in a visual environment belonging to the space exploration era, and at the same time tries to be an artifact of an advanced technological society who minds the efficient and rational use of his own resources. Coming to the eco friendly credentials; the concept is a fully electric car which is powered by electric engine placed in its frontal part, three-phase AC synchronous motors – which gets fueled by a lithium-ion battery pack.
Vehicle’s overall dimensions include a length of 4.5m, a width of 2.5m and a height of 1.6m and its body parts are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic – in order to minimize the weight. Peugeot Hyperion concept’s top speed has electronically been limited to 125 mph.
