2012 Acura NSX Concept

Acura will release the 2012 Acura NSX Concept at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show, which has been confirmed for production by Honda CEO Takanobu Ito a few months ago.

The convertible version of the Acura NSX concept will be showed in the upcoming Ice man movie. Tony Stark will drive it. 2012 Acura NSX Concept is a mid-engine sports coupe.

The concept will be powered by a transversely-mounted V-6 engine, while others at the time had turbochargers or extra displacement. This time around, the performance of the NSX concept will be improved via an electrically driven front axle, the engine will be equiped with a 7-speed twin-clutch transmission.

2010 Acura ZDX

The 2010 ZDX is entering the auto market as a main competitor for the BMW X6. It features dramatic styling, outstanding performance and the latest in advanced technology. Sales will begin this winter and the ZDX will be offered in three distinct trim levels: the base ZDX, ZDX with the Technology Package and the top of the line ZDX with the Advanced Package. However prices have yet to be officially announced and are expected to be reveled sometime in the near future.

Under the hood, Acura will use a 3.7 Liter V6 that will put out 300 HP and 270 lb-ft of torque and will be mated to an all new 6 speed automatic transmission.The ZDX will be offered with a host of creature comforts and technological innovations, like: the panoramic glass roof with retractable sunshade, hand crafted leather interior, HandsFreeLink Bluetooth connectivity for cellular telephones, a power lift tailgate as well as a high powered stereo system that will play everything from CDs and iPods to AM/FM/XM radio signals, all standard.

Because maintaining the deep-draw panels was an essential part of the body design, the manufacturing team was tasked with finding a way to produce them.Eventually the original stamping team, working in secrecy, found a way to make the part in one piece with the help of a low-friction phosphate coating between the die and the steel panel, which improves its formability. Although creating the one-piece deep-draw side panel took a year and a half of development work, the finished component dramatically adds to the ZDX’s provocative appearance and enhances the precision of the metal craftwork.

Befitting its “sports coupe” design, the 2010 ZDX is also longer, lower/wider and features a significantly wider track than its primary market competitors. As a result, in stature as well as design, the ZDX offers an especially dramatic appearance and driving character.

Acura RL is the Acura’s flagship. 2010 Acura RL is largely unchanged following for the 2009 model year. It is still luxurious and packed with technology.

2010 Acura RL interior is beautifully crafted and attractively designed. A swath of convincing or real (depending on trim level) wood trim flows into a neat waterfall center stack that integrates the car’s sizable number of electronic functions. The standard 10-speaker Bose surround-sound system is so superb that you’d swear Gladys Knight was riding shotgun, with the Pips crammed in back. Unfortunately, they’d find just as much space in the less expensive Acura TL which has a pretty good stereo, too.

The vehicle is loaded with standard equipment including: 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic xenon headlights, sunroof, keyless ignition and entry, heated eight-way power front seats with driver memory functions, a power tilt-telescoping steering wheel, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear seat climate controls, an auto-dimming mirror, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, and voice commands for the audio and climate systems.

2010 Acura RL is powered by a 300-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 engine and 271 pound-feet of torque, a five-speed automatic transmission with the ability to switch to manual shift, the 2010 Acura RL is also equipped with a Super Handling all-wheel-drive system that automatically shifts power to the wheels with the best traction for optimum handling capabilities. The 2010 Acura RL offers plenty of power even without a V-8 option and receives EPA ratings of 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.

2010 Acura RL is awarded Five-Star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for front-impact and side-impact safety, the 2010 Acura RL’s standard safety features include antilock disc brakes with brake assist, a stability control system, side-impact and side-curtain airbags and an optional collision mitigation system.

2010 Acura TL A-Spec limited edition

Acura Acura, Honda’s luxury brand, has announced the introduction in Canada of the 2010 Acura TL A-Spec limited edition package, effective May 10, with a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price of $51,290.

The 2010 Acura TL A-Spec features Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) and includes all of the features of the TL SH-AWD Technology Package trim. It can be nated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Acura Canada is offering their customers a new limited edition package which began selling on May 10, 2010 for the 2010 Acura TL. The first time this package was offered was when the TL Type S was given a cosmetic revamping in 2003 with a similar A-spec package.

Compared to a standard TL model, the A-Spec package adds: 19-inch alloy wheels with special summer performance tires and full aero kit skirt package with front, side and rear skirts. The front and rear of the car
are finished off with a midnight chrome grille and rear piece. The last little bit of flair is the ’A-Spec’ badge and ’A-Spec’ floor mats.

No mention is made to the number of packages that will be made of the Acura TL A-spec, but if they follow the mold created by the Canadian A-spec back in ’03 then they would be offering them in about 800 units.

Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept:New Acura NSX

Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept bears all the necessary design elements of a proper sports car: sharp, aggressive edges, a low and wide silhouette, a slightly phallic side profile, and of course, a rear window that stands somewhere between hardly usable and nonexistent.

New Acura NSX powered by V10 engine , that will surely upset NSX lovers who brag of that car’s mid-engine layout. A new version of Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) will favor the rear wheels to keep enthusiasts happy, but the front wheels go into action when the first inevitable four-wheel power slide happens. The ASCC rides on a 108.8-inch wheelbase with an overall length of 181.5 inches, and was designed by Acura’s L.A.-based American design team. We must say, they’ve done a much better job here than with the sedan concept shown at the 2006 Los Angeles show. No word on when Acura’s next sports car will go into production, but it won’t been soon enough.

Keep your car running smoothly. Schedule regular maintenance, keep tires properly inflated and fill up your tank long before the fuel warning light comes on.
Always have a cell phone with you. If you can’t afford a standard plan, get an inexpensive pay-per-use phone for emergencies.
Have an emergency roadside assistance plan. You can buy one on your own or as an option on your auto insurance policy. Also, auto dealers often offer them when you buy a car.
Consider an in-vehicle emergency communications system. These offer live contact with a dispatcher who will send emergency help if you are in an accident or have mechanical problems.

Should you pull over?
You’re driving alone and you notice an unmarked car behind you with lights flashing – but you haven’t done anything illegal.

Experts say if something seems suspicious, trust your gut. Men with fake badges and plain cars have been known to assault women by impersonating police officers and pulling them over in isolated areas.

If you feel uncertain, keep on driving. Go to a well-lit, populated area before pulling over. Legitimate police officers will understand and cooperate.

Avoiding an attack
Keep these things in mind when you’re getting in your car:

If you find a van parked next to you, enter your car from the opposite side or have someone walk you to your car. Many predators park by a car when they see a woman leaving. That way, they can drag her into their van when she returns.
If you are approached by someone who wants your car, hand him the keys. Your car may be expensive, but your life is priceless. (Never have your address on your keychain. If your car is taken, the carjacker will have your house keys, too.)
Don’t get into the car. If someone tries to force you into your car or his own, do everything you can to resist. Once you are in the car, you become much more vulnerable.
Remember that fighting back offers you the best chance of survival in an attack. Kick, scream, poke him in the eyes – do whatever it takes to escape.

Last, don’t live in fear. Take a self-defense course and empower yourself to respond if you’re ever attacked.
