Land Rover has revealed DC100 Concept for 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, and they also confirms the production of a new Land Rover Defender version.

Land Rover have been building vehicles renowned for their capability and versatility for over 60 years , perhaps none more so than the iconic Defender.

Land Rover’s Design Director Gerry McGovern aimed to produce a vehicle that is instantly recognisable as a Defender, yet still thoroughly modern, while capturing the adventurous, indomitable spirit established by the Series 1 in 1948.

The Land Rover DC100 Concept will be unveiled on September 13, but Stay tuned for more details.

2012 Land Rover Defender is based heavily on the T5 steel platform chassis currently used in the Range Rover Sport and LR4, the Project Icon replacement will be capable of meeting the ever-stricter emissions and safety laws that have spelled doom for the Defender as U.S. laws outlawed the sale of new Defenders beginning in 1997 due to the lack of airbags.

The chassis will allow the next-generation rig to be offered in a multitude of bodystyles, including hard- and soft-top variants and a utilitarian pickup style. Our illustrations show the likely move towards a slightly longer, slightly more modern design when compared to the original, which remained virtually unchanged for decades.

Range Rover Evoque cabrio is planed

British off-road Land Rover are planning to introduce a drop-top model that will compete with the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet and Audi Q5 Cabrio. The vehicle would likely be based on the three-door Evoque and could be launched as soon as 2013.

Land Rover claims a key part of the appeal of the regular car – on sale as a three and five-door from September. This four-seater crossover has a canvas hood, and is designed specifically for American customers – a lucrative market the Evoque cabriolet could also exploit.

Range Rover Evoque cabrio is a two-door vehicle, It folds away by picking up one side of the seat. Gravity, along with the angles used, enables the stool to fold out when put back down. The angle on top of the legs has been designed to add maximum strength. As weight is placed on the seat it pinches the top of the legs together creating a stronger join, the heavier the load the stronger the stool.

Land Rover may launch the Land Rover Range Rover Sport in 2012. This will be a roomier version featuring a super-luxurious interior, and built on an all new pressed-alloy platform.

This Range Rover Sport is equiped with greater levels of comfort and technology, the HSE specification includes seats in refined leather and the driver’s seat features electrically adjustable seat bolsters and memory pack; also included are electrically adjustable, heated powerfold exterior mirrors. A Rear View Camera helps reversing by displaying a wide-angled image on the Touch-screen. To add to the ambience, you can also enjoy subtle interior mood lighting.

For extra style, stainless steel tread plates for the sills and striking 20 inch 15-spoke alloy wheels are standard. For additional levels of luxury, there is the availability of an HSE Luxury Pack.

Land Rover and Jaguar mixed ideas to create two new 5.0-litre V8s, expecting power outputs of around 350bhp and 460bhp, with or without a supercharger. A 4.0-liter diesel and hybrid powertrain are also on the horizon. the sport edition mated to eight-speed ZF gearboxes with stop-start. Land Rover will also offer a V8 engine at a later date .

According to the offcial, the price of Range Rover Sport wil l state at $60495.

Land Rover has announced the 2011 Defender X-Tech limited edition.Now we bring you another cool off-road vehicle, the 2011 Land Rover Defender X-Tech Limited Edition, which will be revealed at the Brussels Motor Show.

The X-Tech package is available on both the three-door and five-door models and comes in either bronze or silver exterior colors.The headlight assembly is finished in black along with the roof and fender flares.The wheels have been upgraded to gloss black 16 inch rims.

Although the X-Tech Defender is not as luxurious as its STARTECH cousin, it does offer upgrades with leather upholstery and it comes with a set of matching floor mats.The center console is finished in body matching color, giving the plain interior of the Defender a bit of an upscale feel.

Under the hood is the standard 2.4 liter diesel unit with 122 bhp (124 PS / 91 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque.

Land Rover Defender is one of the most capable and desirable off-roaders ever devised, and it is the best one for you to set out on an expedition by sea. But to the end, it’s typically a spartan and bare-bones affair.

Land Rover Defender became known as utilitarian off-road SUV in 1985, the numbers respectively representing the two- and four-door models’ wheelbases (rounded to the nearest 10). These models were changed to the numerical 90 and 110 from 1991 on and continue to be sold in Great Britain today.

Defender 90 was sold for 1994, 1995 and 1997, which was powered by a 3.9-liter V8 that made 182 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque. This engine drove a full-time four-wheel-drive system and was connected only to a five-speed manual transmission. For 1997, Land Rover fitted the Discovery’s 4.0-liter aluminum V8 that yielded 182 hp and 233 lb-ft of torque into the Defender. Mated only to a four-speed automatic, this engine wasn’t any more powerful than its predecessor, but it had lower emissions, which granted the Defender a brief re-entry into the United States.

The interior has underwent some major modifications. Land Rover Defender has received two front bucket seats covered in orange leather and gray suede, a carbon fiber steering wheel and center console. The rear seats, dashboard and door panels have also received orange leather accents.

Land Rover has unveiled the Discovery 4 Landmark special edition UK. Called the Discovery 4 ’Landmark’, this special edition will be offered in Santorini Black or Fuji White color schemes and will go on sale in January 2011.

Available in Santorini Black or Fuji White, the Landmark features a unique grille, Satin Black roof rails, and 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin boasts Taurus leather (with contrast stitching), Grand Ivory trim, and special floor mats.

The exterior of the Land Rover Discovery 4 Landmark edition will be distinguished by Santorini Black finish grille vanes, gloss black 20″ 5-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels, privacy glass, and Satin Black extended roof rails. The interior gets Taurus interior leather which comes in either Ebony or – for the first time in a Discovery – Ivory. Land Rover has revealed its latest fleet of Range Rover Evoque prototypes, This is the official picture of the Range Rover Evoque, the production version of the Range Rover LRX concept.

The Land Rover LRX concept first revealed at the 2008 Detroit auto show wasn’t a designer’s fantasy: the production two-door is surprisingly close to the concept. The production vehicle’s interior will also take some inspiration from the concept, with typical Range Rover cues of strong ‘structural’ lines in the dash, intersected by straight lines of the center stack.

Land Rover has also confirmed that the new car will be named Evoque, a name that, according to Land Rover, “implies exclusivity and arouses emotions.”Bearing a striking resemblance to the original LRX concept, the newcomer is the smallest and lightest Range Rover ever made. Design boss Gerry McGovern describes the car as “a modern and relevant execution of the familiar Range Rover design language.”

The Evoque will also become the cleanest Land Rover when it goes on sale in the UK next summer. will be sold in over 160 countries worldwide. So getting the styling right is key to the car’s appeal, and crucial for Land Rover’s plans to make the Range Rover brand appeal to more people.

Land Rover LRX concept is a hybrid 4×4 SUV, and it will be built. The new car will debut next year and join the Range Rover line-up in 2011. and the price is around $64,000.

According to the photos, the Land Rover LRX will be the smallest, lightest and most efficient vehicle the company has ever produced. we believe may be a form of test mule for the LRX five-door model. The new car will be built at the multi award-winning plant in Halewood, on Merseyside, subject to quality and productivity agreements and will be sold in over 100 countries around the world.

Land Rover LRX will come as a Hybrid, with electric motors running the back axle. In this model it is expected that the LRX will achive 60+ mpg with emissions of around 120g/km. Impressive for a reasonable sized SUV. And it will give Land Rover a big leap in to this burgeoning sector as people start to trade down their old gas guzzlers, but still look for prestige and quality.
