Lotus has unveiled the 2012 Lotus Exige S at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new model is larger and features a new engine.

2012 Lotus Exige S does look similar to the predecessor but upon closer inspection, there are a number of distinct clues that set it apart. The main of which being the slightly redesigned panels including a new face, headlights and single-piece nose.

2012 Lotus Exige S is powered by a 3.5 liter supercharged V6 engine, which produces a 2,380-pound, 346-horsepower, The 0-60 mph time is still better, coming in at 3.8 seconds. The top speed hikes up to 170 mph.

The 2012 Lotus Exige S is also offered with high-perfomance Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires as standard and a Lotus DPM (Dynamic Performance Management) switch, that allows the driver to switch between three driving modes: Touring, Sport and DPM off. If that’s not enough, Lotus also offers a Race Pack option, which features Launch Control and an optimised suspension setting for track use.

2012 Lotus Exige S will go on sale some time later this year. Prices are yet to be finalised. The car is made to race in the newly formed FIA GT category of the FIA Rally Championship.

Lotus Evora Enduro GT Concept

The Lotus Evora Enduro GT Concept is based on the Evora GT4 Endurance racer, which has been unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show.

Lotus Evora Enduro GT Concept is developed by Lotus Motorsport under the direct supervision of Lead Designer Nicola Scimeca, it can be bought by private individuals and adapted for racing. The new racer will make its debut in June at the 24hr Nürburgring ADAC race in Germany.

The vehicle rides on 18 inch forged Forged aluminum 18×8.5-inch wheels in front and 18×10-inch wheels out back hold the rubbery meats in place, while providing the necessary stopping power is a performance brake system with 22 mm race pads, two piece aluminium belled discs and 6 piston callipers at the front and 4-piston calliper at the rear. It weighed in at just under 1200 kg/2646 lbs.

Lotus Evora Enduro GT Concept is powered by a mid-mounted 4-litre DOCH V6 VVT-i engine, developing 440 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 460 Nm (340 lb.ft.) of torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is sent to the rear wheels via a sequential 6-speed transmission, which should help hurtle this 2,561lb toy car around a track at ridiculous speeds. a competition thermally coated exhaust manifold and a performance air filter.

Earlier this year the company announced its involvement with Renault for a official Lotus-backed F1 team, and today in Geneva, enhanced its ongoing FIA and ACO GT race car car program with the unveiling of the Evora Enduro GT Concept.

2011 Lotus Evora

The Evora is designed to compete with Porsche’s Cayman on the performance side, but will be slightly more practical thanks to its available four-passenger capacity.Notably, the Evora is the only 2+2 sports car on the market with a mid-engine configuration.

The Evora is bigger than the Elise and the Exige models, though it is still a small car.The Evora provides more ample leg and head room, and there is even the option for a rear seat.Only a child or a rather small adult could fit in that rear seat, but still, it’s there.

Powered by a Lotus-tuned 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 280PS/ 206 kW / 276 hp @ 6400 rpm, and weighing just 1382 kg, the Lotus Evora delivers an exhilarating experience true to the Lotus DNA characteristics.The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and a paddle-shifted automatic is in the works.

With the zero to 60 mph sprint taking just 4.9 seconds (100 km/h in just 5.1seconds) a top speed of 162 mph (261 km/h) and an Official European Combined Cycle fuel economy just 33.2 mpg (8.5 litres / 100 km) and emissions of just 199 g/km CO2 the Evora stays true to the ethos of performance through light weight.

The other economy figures are equally impressive with Official European Urban Cycle of 23.4 mpg (12.1 litres / 100 km) and 44.8 mpg (6.3 litres / 100 km) for the Official European Extra Urban Cycle all combined with exceptional ride and handling.

The forged aluminum wishbone suspension will use Bilstein shocks sitting inside Eibach springs to provide the Lotus-signature impressive handling capabilities.The front wheels are 18 inches in diameter, surrounded by tires sized at 225/40-18, while the rears are 19s with 255/35-19 rubber.

By ensuring that the Elise stuck rigidly to Lotus’ core values of performance through light weight, the Elise was able to produce supercar performance with city car economy.Making its debut at the 80th International Geneva Motorshow, the 2011 model year Lotus Elise introduces a number of changes and improvements to maintain its class leading position.

For the 2011 model year, the Elise range will consist of the following variants:
* Lotus Elise – 136 PS, less than 155 g of CO2 /km – new 1.6 litre engine
*Lotus Elise R – 192 PS, 196 g of CO2 /km – 1.8 litre engine

Lotus City Car Concept

Lotus has released the detial and pictures of Lotus City Car concept It is a small sedan developed for urban areas in hybrid technology.

The Lotus Design brings Lotus exclusivity and brand character to a concept vehicle that revels in the city environment. It is a two-door, and what looks like 2+1 seats vehicle. The Lotus city car is beautifully sculptured, possessing a solid, purposeful sportscar stance, while offering features that maximise functionality in the city.

The city car concept is powered by a 35 kW 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine, plus the car’s hybrid drivetrain which uses a 14.8 kWh battery pack can develop a total peak output of 162 kW and 240 Nm of torque and the car can use either methanol, ethanol or petrol as fuel. The speed from 0-100 km/h is 9.0 seconds.

The Lotus City Car’s weight is 1,400 Kg, power is sent to the wheels via a single speed transmission. The high specification of the Lotus City Car concept is emphasised by the mix of carbon fibre, sumptuous leather and high quality equipment.

2015 Lotus Elise

This is the all-new Lotus Elise , the company’s concept portrayal of the future 2015 production model, a car the company describes as a “grown-up” Elise.

The most dramatic feature is a longitudinal spar floating over the center console, which carries the gearchange, ventilation outlets and minor switchgear including ESP settings.The interior is a vastly more sophisticated design than the current car provides, but it retains the same spare quality.Carbon fiber is used extensively throughout the cabin.

Judging from Lotus’ specifications, the new Elise will weigh in at around 2,400 pounds, 400 pounds heavier than the current model.

The new Lotus Elise, expected to go on sale in 2015, will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 235kW and 330Nm of torque.The Elise will do the dash from 0-100km/h in just 4.3 seconds.The engine will delivers its power via a six-speed manual gearbox, while a dual-clutch transmission is an option, so is Lotus’ mild-hybrid start-stop technology.

The price of this new 320-hp Elise is projected at $55,000 — around $15,800 more than today’s entry-level Elise — although less expensive versions are expected.

2015 Lotus Eterne

The concept is the new 2015 Lotus Eterne; a true four door, four seater sports GT.It’s the ultimate expression of refined style, sophistication and grace.

The 2015 Eterne’s powertrain will combine a 5,0 liter V8 engine with a hybrid gearbox with integrated electric motors and KERS.A hybrid drive system is optional, comprising electric motors and a Formula-1-style KERS energy recuperation system.The Eterne will be offered in both rear- and all-wheel-drive forms with a full hybrid transmission that’s good for 196 mph and a 0-60-mph time of 4.0 seconds.

There’s not much to say about the Eterne’s interior because it hasn’t been designed yet.Pricing is anything but concrete at this point, but Bahar does expect the Etern to cost roughly ￡120,000 when it goes on sale in the spring of 2015.

2013 Lotus Esprit

The all-new Lotus Esprit has just been announced at the Paris motorshow and is expected to go on sale in 2013.

The 2013 Lotus Esprit is a 2 seater, mid-engined, rear wheel drive vehicle powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine.It will do the 0-100km/h run in just 3.5 seconds and go to a top-speed of 330 km/h.

In total the car weighs just 1,450 kg.The styling of the Esprit echoes the performance with strong lines throughout the sleek low body.The symmetry through the mass and proportion of the Esprit give it an intense look, it’s the perfect example of the new Lotus DNA in action.

The 2013 Lotus Esprit price starts at 110,000 GBP and the carmaker has announced that the new version of the classic model will go into production towards the end of 2012.

2013 Lotus Elan

The 2013 Lotus Elan, unveiled at the 2010 Paris Auto Show , is a sports car, and it’s an Elan — but not as we know it.

The 2013 Elan features a 4.0 liter V6 pressure charged engine capable of delivering up to 450 PS and taking into consideration its relative light weight of 1,295kg, the 2013 Elan’s performance edges on supercar.

In keeping with the rest of the new Lotus range, the Elan features optional hybrid technology with KERS.From a styling perspective, the Elan is built like an athlete with a muscular physique and perfect poise.

The 2013 Lotus Elan price will start at around the 75,000 GBP mark.

2011 Lotus Elise

The Lotus Elise revolutionised the sportscar market 14 years ago when the small lightweight agile 2-seat mid engine sportscar was introduced. By ensuring that the Lotus Elise stuck rigidly to Lotus’ core values of performance through light weight, the Lotus Elise was able to produce supercar performance with city car economy.

The body of the new 2011 Lotus Elise is an evolution of the iconic Elise design, retaining the character and style, while offering a more planted, purposeful stance and a pure, contemporary look that links it to the Evora. As with all Lotus product the design is an exciting blend of dramatic style and functional efficiency.

The nose, hood, headlights and engine cover have all been tweaked to make the Elise more Evora-like.

The important upgrades come under the hood. For starters, the whole range now gets a new six-speed transmission. Secondly, power from the 1.8-liter Toyota four is up slightly to 192HP for naturally-aspirated and 217HP in the supercharged version. But the big news is also a new engine in the entry-level S model — a 1.6-liter engine (the first time a 1.6 has appeared in an Elise) with Valvematic and Dual VVT-i technology.

Lotus Elite Super car

Lotus which is British sports car manufacturer revealed the first pictures of Lotus Elite supercar. It revives a name that Lotus has not used for nearly 20 years. Its price is around £115,000 and will go on sale in spring 2014.(usd$190,000)

The Lotus Elite is not only visually stunning, with a shark-like look, but features some of the latest technologies the firm has to offer. The emissions/performance ratio is low too with just 215g/km produced by the optional hybrid system. Lotus believe that there is nothing else like it out there both in terms of styling and performance.

The Elite will be powered by a hugely powerful front-mid mounted five-litre V8 engine,which delivering up to 620PS, so the speed 0-60MPH is in just 3.5 seconds. Customers will also be able to specify a hybrid petrolelectric power plant.

Lotus Elite, the first taste of what’s to come from Lotus in the future. Ten days ahead of the official unveil at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It’s also a radical departure from the current generation Elise, with its front-mid-engine, rear wheel drive layout.

Lotus Evora S and Evora IPS

Lotus have unveiled the Lotus Evora S and Evora IPS ahead of an official release at this years Paris Motorshow.

The Lotus Evora S and IPS (which stands for “Intelligent Precision Shift” or “automatic transmission” in layman’s terms) will nicely fill out the Evora range, and we’re aching to get our hands on the former. The Evora S comes with a set of standard 19 inch alloys or an optional 19/20 inch set at an extra cost both in money and economy figures.

The Lotus Evora s is powered by Toyota-sourced 3.5-liter V6 engine. Overall, it provides 345 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque – gains of 69 hp and 37 lb-ft standard model, allowing 0-60 mph in just 4.6s and an increased top speed of 172mph. Torque is up to 400 Nm. In addition to this, a sport pack is included as a standard feature. It includes a sport button which allows the driver to control throttle response and activate the exhaust by-pass valve, an instantaneous increase for the rev limiter at the touch of a button and changes to the dynamic stability control settings.

Lotus is also offering the Evora IPS featuring both fully automatic and manual shift modes. The Lotus Evora IPS essentially adds an automatic box to the standard Evora. Retaining the same 280 hp 3.5l V6, Lotus have added an automatic 6-speed gearbox with Lotus developed transmission control. The new box offers both manual paddle shift and automatic drive modes both with ‘sport’ modes also included.

Lotus Esprit Concept

Lotus will unveil the new Lotus Esprit concept at the 2010 Paris Auto Show in September.

The Lotus Esprit was one of the fastest cars in the world built by Lotus from 1976 to 2004. it was launched in October 1975 at the Paris motor show, and it went into production in June 1976, replacing the Europa in the Lotus model line-up.

Rumor has it that, Lotus will again turn to Toyota for an engine. It is expected that Toyota would be offering Lotus a Lexus LF-A V10 engine. In Lotus spec, the engine could be tuned to produce more than 500 horsepower. It is thought that the Esprit will use a similar Aluminium bonded chassis technology to the Elise.
Lotus has confirmed Lotus Esprit concept will unveil, among other cars. Insiders say the new version will be the ultimate expression of the Lotus brand, they also say it could be powered by an exotic, 400kW-plus V10. Aiming high at the luxury market, Lotus also plans to unveil two new, front-engined GT cars at the same show.

New Lotus Concept Cars: Lotus Eigne

Lotus Eigne is an electric sports-car concept that wants to offer more practicality from the Lotus sports-car. It is design by David Fearnley, with a 2008 graduate of the Transportation Design Course at Northumbria University, England.

The Lotus Eigne concept was designed to be more practical usual vehicles from Lotus. So the exterior design of the Eigne channels air to the back of the car making it very aerodynamic, and improves the handling by creating extra down force thanks to the integrated spoiler from the back. The large intake from the car allows the cool air to reach the rear in-wheel motors. The in-wheel motors offer rear biased four-wheel drive for more control while maintaining the rear-wheel drive feel.

The interior of Lotus Eigne is also amazing! David Fearnley designed a very modern interior for the Eigne that can accommodate the driver in front, The generously-scaled central space of the cockpit can accommodate two adults and a child, behind the driver thanks to a 1+2 seating arrangement, made possible thanks to the in-wheel electric motors which eliminate any obstacles on the floor pan. Because of the center seat the doors incorporate a section of the roof to allow access to the car.

The batteries which power the electric motors are sandwiched in the floor pan to keep them cool and lower center of gravity for better handling.

David Fearnley has graduated from the Transportation Design Course at Northumbria University with a 1st class BA(Hons) degree on 17th July 2008. Among his professional experiences is a collaboration with JCB Excavators which led to two placements within the Industrial Design Department. He is currently seeking internship and employment opportunities.
