Subaru BRZ Convertible is a rear-wheel-drive sports coupe, it is a convertible version of 2013 Subaru BRZ coupe, which was recently revealed during the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show.

Subaru BRZ Convertible stands 170 inches in length, 70 inches in width and 52 inches in height. It sits on a wheelbase that measures 101 inches.

BRZ Convertible is powered by the same engine as the Subaru BRZ coupe, so the power is same. Like the coupe, expect a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission equipped with paddle shifters. The BRZ convertible sprit a 0-60 mph sprint of less than 7 seconds.

Subaru released the 2013 Subaru BRZ production version at the Tokyo auto show, it is fastest, the most powerful two-door rear-wheel drive coupe.

Subaru BRZ is the result of one of the auto industry’s oddest joint ventures since Alfa Romeo and Nissan hooked up in the 1980s to produce. Toyota did the planning and design. Subaru did the engineering, and will build both versions at its Gunma plant in Japan.

2013 Subaru BRZ is base on the new rear-drive platform. It is developed on 16 and 17 inch wheels, defying the fashionable trend toward, weigh a feathery 2500 pounds.

Interior, the cabin of 2013 Subaru BRZ features sporty cloth-covered seats, a dash layout in which the tachometer is the central instrument, and enough room for a full set of racing tires. Look for options to include Bluetooth, navigation and iPod capability among other features.

2013 Subaru BRZ will be powered by 2.0-liter flat-4 engine, output 200 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Subaru Hybrid Tourer concept

Subaru Hybrid Tourer concept has debuted at 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. Owner Fuji Heavy Industries says that the concept hints at the future design language for the Subaru brand. Fuji said that Subaru will add its first hybrid vehicle in 2012 as a version of an exiting model in its lineup, reports Automotive News.

The car’s flat floor hides two electric motors, one aft that powers the car in low-speed acceleration and assists with acceleration, The gas/electric car of the future features a pair of oversized gullwing doors and is powered by a hybrid drivetrain that centers around a 2.0 Liter horizontally opposed direct gasoline injection turbocharged engine combined with two auxiliary electric motors.

The gas burning boxer power plant is mated to the automotive arm of Fuji Heavy Industry’s symmetrical all wheel drive system and the automaker’s latest power train invention, a next generation continuously variable transmission that Subaru calls a Lineatronic CVT. The fuel efficient Hybrid Tourer Concept gets the majority of its power from the refined flat four; but the electric motors, making 27 HP up front and 13 HP in the rear, provide an additional boost and make the new Subaru capable of operating round town as a zero emission vehicle.
